ADDITIONAL FEEDBACK:

The woman who checked us in refused cash. It’s not legal in the state of Massachusetts for a business to refuse cash payment. It’s discriminatory. We were trying to pay cash since my card got declined and my bank account had been frozen from fraud. I was under the impression that I had paid online at the time of booking. So to encounter such a surprise (not the good kind) and inconvenience at the same time while being from out of town and driving all day, is awful. So what would have happened if he didn’t have a card? Be sent away with no place to stay? All because a business wants to break a law and refuse cash?! Also at check in, we had to stand outside in the cold rain to conduct our check-in, while trying to figure out all of this confusion, because she didn’t want to let us inside. We conducted business from a window. It was unprofessional. Also, there’s black mold on the a/c unit, the filter was dirty and the room is moldy and musty, The bathroom smelled like a public restroom as old as the 80’s. Like someone peed all over the ENTIRE bathroom and just left it there. It was absolutely disgusting. The floor had a piece missing, which my boyfriend stubbed his toe in. Installing a dehumidifier in the room would be a wonderful no brainer, after the mold is removed from under the flooring and everywhere else it’s residing. Was the room visually esthetic? Sure, but esthetics don’t trump mold, or urine soaked bathrooms.

OTHER SUGGESTIONS:

Tear the flooring up, remedy the mold, install dehumidifiers, don’t use a floating floor with cracks in a bathroom (they’re not meant for bathrooms to begin with), dont break laws because you’re a fear monger and don’t make people stand outside in the cold or the rain!

ADDITIONAL FEEDBACK:

The lack of housekeeping services due to the pandemic was frustrating but certainly understandable. The Sandwich Inn and Suites are on very nice grounds and it is an attractive place to stay.

OTHER SUGGESTIONS:

More visible staff on grounds to answer questions (again though during the pandemic this is difficult and certainly understandable. Very nice place overall.

ADDITIONAL FEEDBACK:

Had trouble with TV - and TV service. Breakfast was very nice, offering a variety of items. Vending machine in annex either did not work or was not stocked.

The staff was friendly and very helpful. We had our first Covid travel experience and felt safe and taken care of. Thank you.

OTHER SUGGESTIONS:

We kept locking ourselves out of room - our fault. Offering of 2 keys would have saved us from going to the office multiple times.

POSITIVE:

Two of the three staff we interacted with were very pleasant. One seemed bothered by our questions, and did a poor job sharing the details of the breakfast ordering process.

NEGATIVE:

Breakfast was nothing special. Reviews suggested it would stand out from other continental breakfasts. It did not.

POSITIVE:

I loved the way the room looked. It looked exactly like the picture on here. The location was great since there was tons of stuff to do right down the street or not far away from the inn. Loved that the bed had European bedsheets like the duvet covers.

NEGATIVE:

The bed frame was very squeaky Everytime you moved. Also the breakfast was not great at all. If you’re going to include a breakfast with or without Covid, it should be at least semi decent not brought to us in paper bags and the fruit not cut up and the eggs being cold. Also the floors were not clean at all. The pricing was ok since there was a couple of things I did not like.

ADDITIONAL FEEDBACK:

The stay was wonderful. And the room was great. My only recommendation would be to vacuum better. In both rooms we stayed in (21 & 3) there were food particles or hair on the floor or near/under bed. Also humidifiers in both rooms were filled when we checked in so we emptied them.

Otherwise beautiful grounds, and well kept rooms. Breakfast was great too.

Keep up the good work and we are excited to return.

OTHER SUGGESTIONS:

I would suggest to just vacuum a little a better. We stayed 3 nights. Friday night we stayed in room 21 and found cereal under one of the bed skirts and the floors felt sandy. Saturday and Sunday we stayed in room 3. In there we found a good amount of hair on the floor in the bathroom and again by the bed and night stand there were crumbs and debris.

ADDITIONAL FEEDBACK:

No indoor pool just seem like a basic motel food was terrible I do understand COVID but you got to do better then that for the price I expected more suppose to be an Airbnb and it seem like motel 6 but cleaner

OTHER SUGGESTIONS:

Everything I said above specially since it’s a way from everything add more things to do or lower the price the pool outside could have been open to a minimum Capacity no difference from an indoor pool specially since holidays inn and best western had theirs open

Unfortunately I never got to stay. Made a 4night fully refundable and changeable reservation just last month. I call to make a change to the reservation and they tell me that because they now have a lot of people booking and interest in staying at the motel that there is now a 5 night minimum stay. My only option is to cancel.

I was trying to support a small business by going for a few days. We have friends staying for 2 nights that same weekend. I understand that businesses are hurting, but not honoring the original reservation and its rules is just bad service.

When I explained my frustration to the person on the phone the response I got was “I don’t know what to tell you”.

ADDITIONAL FEEDBACK:

Because of the unusual times we are living in right now I thought the Inn met the challenges of providing a safe environment extremely well.

Minor issues we had were:

Keys not working daily

Poor WiFi in room

TV needed quite a bit of intervention to get working

Although we did not require daily housekeeping, items such as coffee, shampoo and towels were not automatically replaced.

ADDITIONAL FEEDBACK:

I asked that the lightning be fixed outside so I could sit outside but the staff indicated it couldn’t be fixed at the moment but that a work order was on place for the next day. It was never fixed. The staff in the office (morning) could’ve been more pleasant. The breakfast items were limited. It would’ve been easier if that was online.
